Bengals believe QB Joe Burrow sprained his wrist in loss to Ravens

BALTIMORE – Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was forced out of Thursday night's game against the Baltimore Ravens due to a right wrist injury.
"It looks like he sprained his wrist," Bengals coach Zac Taylor said after the Ravens' 34-20 victory, offering few details on the status of his star player.
Burrow went into the Cincinnati locker room with 5:04 remaining in the first half after appearing to hurt himself during a touchdown drive in the second quarter. He grabbed his wrist and appeared to be in pain, repeatedly balling his hand into a fist, after throwing a 4-yard touchdown to Joe Mixon. He appeared to wince while making the pass to Mixon. Prior to that, Burrow fell awkwardly on the wrist area while getting taken to the ground by Ravens linebacker Jadeveon Clowney.
Amazon Prime sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said Burrow was unable to grip the ball effectively on the sideline. Amazon's cameras showed Burrow shaking his head after he was unable to make a practice throw.
Burrow, who did not speak to reporters in the locker room, left the stadium with his wrist wrapped, possibly with a splint underneath, but the Bengals provided no further details.

Taylor, who said he hadn't spoken to Burrow yet, had "no idea" about the quarterback's long-term prognosis.
Cincinnati players also claimed to be in the dark. Asked about Burrow's injury, right tackle Jonah Williams responded: "Trying to get an answer on that, too."
Center Ted Karras touted Burrow's toughness but admitted of his injury, "I don't have any information."
Jake Browning steps in after Joe Burrow's wrist injury
Burrow's backup, Jake Browning, who had only thrown one NFL regular-season pass prior to Thursday, entered the game in Burrow's place after the Ravens scored to go up 14-10.
Burrow was officially ruled out at halftime but returned to the sideline – still in uniform but with an earpiece that allowed him to monitor team communications.
Browning went 8-for-14 for 68 yards as the Ravens pulled away. The Bengals did not get into the end zone again until Browning threw a touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase during garbage time.
Ahead of the game, Burrow was spotted in a now-deleted Bengals post wearing a brace on his right hand while getting off the team bus, another matter to which Taylor offered no insight. Burrow was not listed on the Bengals' injury report.
